After a few long weeks off, the action in Europe's biggest club ice hockey competition returns this week with two days of Champions Hockey League action lined up. With just two places taken on our 16-long list of Playoffs qualifiers, the time to shine is NOW!

Our Spotlight Game of the round - Lukko Rauma vs. EV Zug at 17:30 CEST - will get the October action rolling, with the Swiss side making the long journey up north to take on a close rival in the Regular Season Standings.

18:00 CEST will see Mountfield HK take on KalPa Kuopio in Czechia as the home team look to secure a place in the Top 16 against a team that has already sealed theirs.

One hour later, Brynäs IF will welcome Storhamar Hamar to Sweden looking to take points from the Norwegian visitors and build on a strong end to the action in early September. 

Reigning German champions Eisbären Berlin will welcome Frölunda Gothenburg for a clash of two European heavyweights in the German capital at 19:30 CEST. With much-needed points on the line for both teams, this one could really light the fireworks.

At the same time, fellow DEL side Pinguins Bremerhaven will skate out onto their home ice, lining up against past CHL Champions and  two-time CHL Finalists Luleå Hockey!

Rounding out the first day of Game Day 5 action will be a clash between ZSC Lions Zurich and Sparta Prague in Zurich at 19:45 CEST. Both clubs are very close to sealing their place in the Round of 16, so expect that to show in each and every battle on the ice!
