The Champions Hockey League (CHL) Board announces the appointment of Fadri Holinger as Director of Operations & Sport (DOS). Holinger has been part of the CHL organisation since 2021 and most recently served as Sport Director.
The introduction of the Director of Operations & Sport role marks a strategic step to further strengthen the CHL’s organisational structure, enhance operational leadership and ensure efficient execution of day-to-day activities as the league prepares for its next phase of development.
In his new role, Holinger will take on overall responsibility for the CHL’s daily operations and the sport department, while working in close alignment with the President and the Board, continuing to focus on long-term strategy, governance and future development initiatives. Since the start of the current season, Holinger has already taken on these responsibilities on an interim basis, demonstrating strong leadership and effective management of the organisation’s daily operations.
CHL President Jörgen Lindgren emphasised the importance of this decision: “This is a very positive step for the Champions Hockey League. Fadri has been with the organisation for more than four years and has demonstrated strong leadership, commitment and an excellent understanding of both our sporting and operational environment. By introducing the Director of Operations & Sport role and promoting internally, we strengthen our leadership structure, increase speed in execution and secure continuity in our daily operations.”
Holinger’s deep understanding of the CHL, combined with his operational experience and leadership during recent seasons, makes him well suited for the position. His internal promotion provides continuity, stability and momentum at an important stage in the organisation’s evolution.
CHL Director of Operations & Sport Fadri Holinger underlined his commitment to the new role: “I am honoured to take on the role of Director of Operations & Sport for the Champions Hockey League. Having worked within the organisation for several years, I strongly believe in the CHL’s vision and its role in developing European club ice hockey. I look forward to working closely with the President, the Board, our clubs and partners, and the CHL team to continue building a strong, efficient and forward-looking organisation.”
