The first four Game Days of the 2025/26 season of the Champions Hockey League are firmly behind us, and looking back, we saw our fair share of goals across the 48 games played in Europe's elite club ice hockey competition. Players from all positions have been pitching in, with 70 players finishing on a point-per-game average or higher.
However, there is a select set of eight players who have performed at the highest level and been irreplaceable assets to their team, netting six or more points across the late August/early September period. Let's take a look at who they are!
Scoring Leaders | Mario Kempe & Cade Borchardt
KAC Klagenfurt's Mario Kempe & KalPa Kuopio's Cade Borchardt lead the CHL scoring table after four Game Days played with a joint record of seven points in four games played (2G, 5A).
A large portion of 36-year-old Kempe's points, including both his goals, came from a monumental night against the Odense Bulldogs in Denmark, when he scored a whopping five points!
For 27-year-old Borchardt, the key has been consistency across the opening set of games. He's scored points in each of his team's duels this season and recorded a personal high of three against Red Bull Salzburg on Game Day 4.
Six on Six Points!
After Kempe and Borchardt, the list gets a bit crazy, with six players scoring six points across the opening two weeks of CHL hockey. But no two points are the same, so let's find out more about each of these scorers and get a unique angle on their tallies.
The Goal-Scorer | Jan Urbas
Pinguins Bremerhaven's Jan Urbas shines whenever he plays, we've seen that countless times in the Champions Hockey League over the years, and with four goals, including a spectacular OT game-winner against reigning CHL Champions ZSC Lions Zurich, and two assists in four games played, he's been at his very best at the start of 2025/26.
Urbas may not be the point scoring leader, but his four goals make him the goal scoring leader after Game Day 4!
Equal Split | Eric Gélinas
The perfect split of 3+3 is what Lukko Rauma's ex-NHL captain Eric Gélinas has delivered. The Canadian 193cm tall D-man has been a big part of Lukko's play so far this season, shining with goals against Eisbären Berlin, Pinguins Bremerhaven and HC Bolzano and dealing decisive passes as well.
The Kometa Duo | Hynek Zohorna & Šimon Stránský
Czech side Kometa Brno have had a solid return to the CHL, picking up two home wins and two close losses on the road. They've scored a CHL-high of 17 goals in four games, and Hynek Zohorna and Šimon Stránský have had a hand in exactly 12 of those, with the Czech duo picking up an equal two goals and four assists.
Unlike Stránský, however, Zohorna reached this number in just three games played and with a two points-per-game average, he currently leads the CHL in this stat!
Putting the Team First | Christophe Boivin & Jere Innala
Rounding out our list are Grenoble's Christophe Boivin and Frölunda Gothenburg's Jere Innala who have both scored precisely zero goals, but made all their points in assists. The pair of forwards have both played all four games and been consistent for their teams' play, opting to set teammates up rather than take all the glory for themselves. The type of player every team needs.
