Rögle Ängelholm's opening contest was anything but ideal as the Swedes failed to find the net and ultimately fell to HC Pilsen by a 4-0 final. Meanwhile, Dynamo Pardubice had the complete opposite result as they put six past their Polish opponents while securing their own shutout as they downed GKS Tychy 6-0.

Pardubice had their legs going from the start and secured three tallies within the first 20 minutes. Matěj Stránský started the scoring near the midway mark of the initial stanza and Roman Červenka registered his first of four assists during the match. The 40-year-old showed no signs of slowing down as he managed 17:15 of TOI and was dominant in all situations. Having that leadership going forward will be instrumental for the Czechs, who have very high ambitions for this season, as they look to capture their second win of hopefully many more to come this season. 

On the opposing bench, past CHL Champions Rögle will need to re-evaluate their time with the puck. The Swedes only managed to test Pilsen's netminder 15 times and failed to establish any consistent offensive pressure. A shaky start from Arvid Holm between the pipes didn't help matters, either.

As Rögle prepare to take on another tough Czech opponent in Pardubice, they'd do well to get back to the basics - getting pucks deep, hard forechecking and capitalizing on opportunities.
