GKS Tychy continue to search for their first win of the season after dropping their previous two contests - their latest, a 2-1 loss to HC Pilsen. HC Davos on the other hand has successfully landed themselves in the win column in both matches so far this season with their most recent win over Eisbären Berlin being an 8-2 thrashing.

The Poles responded with a better showing in their Game Day 2 derby, while not squeaking out the win, they also managed to give up four fewer goals than in their contest against Dynamo Pardubice. This is good news in the defensive department. But the bad news still stands: they haven't found a way to convert on the opportunities they do get. Through two games, Tychy are 23rd in GG with 0,50 average. If they hope to beat a dominant Davos, they'll need to find a way to occupy the O-zone, get to the dirty areas, and capitalise on their chances.

Davos took it to another level in their game against the Germans, putting eight past Berlin's netminder - five of which came before Berlin ever found their first tally. For the Swiss, everything has been going right so far. A close contest against Storhamar Hamar was followed by this impressive showing and they just seem to be gaining confidence. Given this, and their next opponent, it would be wise for Davos to not underestimate Tychy. Maintaining their effort is essential as this league has had its fair share of underdog wins.
