- Växjö target home advantage
- Salzburg seek immediate bounce-back
- Tactical battle awaits
The Champions Hockey League action will heat up at the Vida Arena on September 13th as Växjö Lakers host Red Bull Salzburg.
Växjö enter this European clash with mixed results from the previous games – including a tight battle against Tappara Tampere resulting in 1-2 for Tappara, an impressive win over Slovak club HK Nitra and an opening loss to Adler Mannheim. The Swedish CHL regulars will certainly aim to exploit Salzburg's defensive lapses and convert on man-advantage situations in this one!
Salzburg arrive on foreign ice, having experienced a very testing start to their season, starting with a 5-2 setback against Kölner Haie before bouncing back with a solid 3-0 victory against Bílí Tygři Liberec and ending in it with a tough 5-0 defeat against Rögle Ängelholm, who after not having scored any goals in their opening two games, went on a scoring frenzy and netted 5-0 against the Austrians who let four in over the course of the final period.
Whether Växjö’s home advantage or Salzburg’s desperate bounce-back mission takes center stage, expect a fiery 60-minute match-up, where execution and tactics will decide on the winners.
