- Four-goal second period kept game wide open
- Third period proved decisive as Bern pulled ahead
- Kometa left the ice without points for the first time this season
SC Bern hosted Kometa Brno at the PostFinance Arena on Game Day 4 of the Champions Hockey League. Both teams battled hard, but it was the Swiss side who emerged with the full three points in front of their faithful home crowd.
The opening period ended 1–1 after a cautious start with few chances. Bern struck first at 8:16 when Marco Lehmann scored on a rebound. Kometa responded late in the frame, as Andrej Kollár converted on the powerplay to pull the visitors level.
The second period was wide open, producing four goals. Kometa fell behind, then briefly moved in front, but defensive lapses cost them and the game was tied 3–3 at the intermission. The Czechs had stretches where they looked the stronger side, though defensive mistakes kept them from taking control.
In the third, Bern regained momentum. At 50:34, Miro Aaltonen put the hosts back in front. Kometa pressed hard for an equaliser, with Arttu Ilomäki coming close, but the breakthrough never came. In the final minute, Lehmann added his second of the night into the empty net to seal a 5–3 victory. Bern celebrated three points, while Kometa left the ice empty-handed for the first time this season.
