Genève-Servette's three-goal second period performance was crucial as the club secured their second victory of the Champions Hockey League season, defeating Storhamar Hamar 3-2.

Eirik Salsten broke through for Storhamar at 11:55 when his shot made it through traffic and past Robert Mayer to give the Norwegians the 1-0 lead. Christian Bull recovered the puck and found Slasten walking the blueline as the forward corralled the puck and fired it in for his second of the season.

Genève eventually found the equaliser 59 seconds into the second stanza when James Vesey secured his second tally of the competition. Vesey received a pass just inside the hash marks, got control of the puck and swept it low glove side.

A little over four and a half minutes later, though, it was Storhamar reclaiming the lead when Jacob Berglund produced a turnaround shot from the top of the far circle that somehow found its way into the net to make it 2-1.

But the Swiss continued to showcase their own offensive capabilities, netting two consecutive markers to close off the second period. Markus Granlund registered his third tuck of the season when he shoveled the puck home at 28:17. Then Simas Ignatavicius gave Genève their first lead of the game, one-timing a puck from inside the hash marks as Theo R. de Vries continued to have trouble stopping pucks from this area of the ice.

With time winding down in the third and still trailing by one, the Norwegians pulled their netminder as they took an offensive zone draw. But the Swiss did well to frustrate Storhamar's last-ditch effort as they went on to claim their second victory in as many games.
